The Weirdest People in the World

I could write a longer Substack article about this topic, but I really find it beyond fascinating. It is especially difficult for foreigners to understand, but I think once they understand the uniqueness of Northwestern Europe they'll understand a lot of European history.

Recently I had exactly this conversation with a Lebanese, who couldn't really understand what makes Poles and Germans so different - after all, according to her, they're both just bland white people.

For any Americans reading this, I also think it is a pretty good divider between "white" nations (To use your terms) and then European nations. It might be confusing, but Serbian are European, but are they white? Yes, they might have lightskin, but culturally they arguably have more in common with the rest of the world than they do with Scandinavia / Northwest Europe.
